Brandy is a lifetime student of the Human Condition, Yogic Philosophies, Creative Expression, Healing, Awakening, and the Conscious Language of Music and Art. Her creative roots originated during the awakening of L.A.’s conscious movement in hip-hop; with a background in spoken word, poetry, eclectic, classic, soul, & jazz fusion rock. She began practicing yoga in 2004, while recovering from sciatica, but it was her experience in “Corporate America” that propelled her study of yoga. The Yogic disciplines have helped her return to her roots, find her calling and deepen her role in helping others find their own divine balance.
She teaches from her heart and emphasizes the healing power that moving meditation brings to the mind, body, and soul, “removing the distracting elements of our mind and focusing-listening to our breath to guide us. Just as an artist or musician might ‘improvise’, a poet, emcee or dancer might ‘freestyle’, a drummer plays ‘in the pocket’, an athlete’s head ‘is in the game’, we all have our own flow- where our emotions are not just contained and channeled, but positive & energized. Being connected to our breath means we are connecting with our life force, our energy, our flow.”
