I was a professional dancer by the age of 11 and earned a BFA in Dance & Theatre from Chapman University and my yoga teacher training certifications through Cloud Nine Yoga under Erika Faith and Mackenzie MacSween. I began practicing yoga as part of my dance training at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center in New York. After my dance career ended I discovered that yoga was the healing practice that my body and spirit needed to recover from the physical trauma associated with dance. I am the co-director of the Huntington Beach branch of the Cloud Nine Yoga Teacher Training Program and I sit on the CNY Board of Directors.
My style of yoga is “Spirit Flow,” a hybrid of yoga styles with a strong focus on the spiritual aspects of the practice. I subscribe to the belief that the mind, body and spirit must flow together at once to experience true integrative growth. The art and science of yoga intrigues me, satisfies me and inspires me. My style of teaching encourages my students to find their own truths, mindfully experience each moment with a sense of gratitude and acceptance, and challenges the mind, body and spirit to reach new heights.
