Sasha teaches yoga as a wisdom tradition that can awaken the body, heart and mind. Her classes offer a healing blend of yin-yang asana, philosophical depth, and compassionate awareness. Sasha completed her first teacher training course with Ana Forrest in 2002 after five years of intensive practice and study, which included deep exploration of a serious spinal injury.
She was introduced to the relationship between yoga, anatomy, nutrition, psychology, and energetics through in-depth study with Julian Walker and Ellen Heed. She continued her inquiry into body-mind healing through the study of cranio-sacral work with the Milne Institute, and then through Peter Levine’s Somatic Experiencing work.
Sasha has been deeply immersed in the study of Insight Yoga (Yin Yoga, Yang Yoga, Meditation, and Psycho-Spiritual Practice) with Sarah Powers for the last four years, and now assists Sarah in workshops and trainings. Her teaching is also deeply influenced by her practice of vipassana meditation, and by the psycho-spiritual work of John Welwood and Jennifer Welwood, who brilliantly integrate western style psychological inquiry within the framework of spiritual practice.
Sasha is a graduate student in East-West Psychology at CIIS. She teaches private sessions, ongoing classes, workshops and retreats in the Los Angeles and San Francisco Areas.
